Hello Robert if you are still on duty. Yesterday, I was helped to configure the Remote Desktop Connection, It works OK and can access Medisoft under my name logon name. I can also print to the printer connected to my laptop. Now, I can't access Medisoft anymore. It is asking me again the same msg we had before Create a new set of data. Pls help.

Sorry to bug you again but my remote desktop is no longer working after we mess around the Medisoft user logon. I need help again.

+ | << Public: Robert at 12/21/05 23:21 [MessageID:24xxx-811392]
To find out more about what is causing this problem I suggest initiating a TekRemote™ screen-sharing session. Is that fine with you?

+ | << Public: Joe Smith at 12/21/05 23:21 [MessageID:24xxx-811393]
Yes.

+ | << Public: Robert at 12/21/05 23:22 [MessageID:24xxx-811394]
OK. Please disable firewall if any exists.

Viewer: OK. I'm able to see your screen now.
Viewer: Could you please now reproduce the problem?

Presenter: I created two shortcut logon for myself and Laura on my desktop to logon remotely to the PC we were working on before on Medisoft users logon configuration. I will execute so you can see.
Presenter: It is working now. I guess the firewall has someting to do with it. Pls explain if correct analysis.
Viewer: Now I will configure the Windows firewall to allow remote desktop connections.
Viewer: Plese try now to reproduce the problem.
Presenter: I will execute Medisoft, hold on.
Presenter: I don't know what to tell you Robert. Now that firewall is on, it still works. I would like to try under Laura's name to see if it also works. OK with you.
Viewer: Ok, please do so.
Presenter: For the meantime, did you do something in firewall config that I didn't notice.
Viewer: Actually, nothing.
Presenter: OK. pls disconnect now and I will try logging on under Laura name.
Viewer: OK.

+ | << Public: Joe Smith at 12/21/05 23:40 [MessageID:24xxx-811418]
Robert it is weird. When you disconnected, I remote logon first under my name to see if it still works and now it is giving that same msg DATA FILES NOT FOUND again. I tried under LAURA and same msg. I turn off FIREWALL and logon on both SONNY and LAURA and still same msg. Now, I am really puzzled. Firewall is currently turn off in this PC.

+ | << Public: Joe Smith at 12/21/05 23:41 [MessageID:24xxx-811419]
You can TekRemote again and test it one more time.

+ | << Public: Robert at 12/21/05 23:41 [MessageID:24xxx-811420]
OK.

Viewer: Could you please nowtry the problem?
Presenter: Did you see it?
Viewer: Yes. Is the problem here when you are not using Remote Desktop?
Presenter: What do you mean problem is here.
Viewer: Does the software run fine if you are not using Remote desktop, but sitting behind that PC?
Presenter: Yes. I went there and tested it under Sonny and Laura and works well.
Viewer: Does it worked before under Remote Desktop?
Presenter: Yes, yesterday under SONNY. You could probably review the question.
Viewer: Please try to reboot that PC and then connect to it again and check the problem.
Presenter: OK, pls disconnet now.
Viewer: OK.

+ | << Public: Joe Smith at 12/21/05 23:56 [MessageID:24xxx-811437]
I am back Robert. As you said, I rebooted my laptop. Turn off firewall to be sure of eliminating blame. I can remotely logon under SONNY and LAURA names but same msg appears DATA FILES NOT FOUND wnen running Medisoft.

+ | << Public: Robert at 12/21/05 23:58 [MessageID:24xxx-811438]
I see. This is rather specific issue of your software so I suggest you to contact Medisoft's support for instructions regarding this problem.

+ | << Public: Joe Smith at 12/21/05 23:59 [MessageID:24xxx-811440]
Just curious Robert. So how come it worked yesterday.

+ | << Public: Robert at 12/22/05 00:01 [MessageID:24xxx-811444]
Unfortunately we do not provide support for this software, so I have no ideas.

+ | << Public: Joe Smith at 12/22/05 00:03 [MessageID:24xxx-811449]
Wow, it is just weird. I guess I don't have much to give input either. Anyway, thanks a lot for the help. For the meantime, will you please pass this problem among your team and see if somebody might know something you are missing to try. Then, tomorrow I will try to logon again to check if there is any progress. Is that OK?

+ | << Public: Robert at 12/22/05 00:04 [MessageID:24xxx-811451]
I think no one in our team will know, as we do not support it.

+ | << Public: Joe Smith at 12/22/05 00:05 [MessageID:24xxx-811452]
So I guess we can close this question as unresolved?

+ | << Public: Robert at 12/22/05 00:07 [MessageID:24xxx-811455]
I would recommend you to leave this question open and go to MediSoft support, and then notify us about the results.

+ | << Public: Joe Smith at 12/22/05 00:08 [MessageID:24xxx-811457]
OK. Thanks again and goodnight.

Hello Joe Smith. I am Randy and I will continue working on your issue if you do not mind.

+ | << Public: Joe Smith at 12/26/05 16:43 [MessageID:24xxx-815118]
No problem Randy. Pls give a moment to tell you what is happening now.

+ | << Public: Randy at 12/26/05 16:43 [MessageID:24xxx-815124]
I would recommend having a TekRemote™ screen-sharing session. Do you agree?

+ | << Public: Joe Smith at 12/26/05 16:44 [MessageID:24xxx-815126]
OK.

Viewer: Please show me your problem.
Viewer: Please log on to the problem PC and come back to our site.
Presenter: My Medisoft billing software is running well in this PC but it is no longer after Robert tried to help me run it thru Remote Desktop Connection.
Presenter: I will try to run it so you can see the msg it gives.
Viewer: Ok
Presenter: First, it is asking me again to register but when it comes to this point I don't exactly know what to do.
Presenter: It is asking me to build new set of data again or the path is somewhat lost.
Viewer: Unfortunately we don't support this software, i think for more qualified help about this program it would be better for you to contact their Technical Support.
Presenter: I don't have technical support from Medisoft. In addition, their support sucks and terrible.
Viewer: I will try to do my best.
Presenter: Pls do. I think last time you were able to decipher when you move the database from C to D. If you remember you enter a period and the database loaded OK but to be honest I don't really understand what you did.
Viewer: Could you please tell me do you have already created Data Base?
Presenter: There is an existing database but the connection is somewhat lost that is why it is asking me again to register and then create a new data set. I needed I have a backup that I can restore which is basically ready in USB drive already connected.
Viewer: Is your databse located on the network computer?
Presenter: No, it is in this PC.
Presenter: Randy, I just noticed the period you entered before was still there. I just don't know now what it can do to us.
Viewer: Please clarify what period?
Presenter: Did you see after BACKUP\.\
Presenter: I hAVE an idea. How about if we delete the folder BACKUP AND BIN then start from Medidata/LVG. We can play with this database bec this is only backup now.
Viewer: I dont think that is a good idea because we can loose all the data.
Presenter: I have a backup of database so don't worry. My only problem is the program is not running well that is why I thought we can play around.
Viewer: Maybe we should try to reinstall it?
Presenter: Hmmm, that is an idea, I never thought about it.
Presenter: I have not done a Medisoft uninstall but I will it a shot and then reinstall. Can you stand by and see what will happen next.
Viewer: Yes, sure
Presenter: OK. Talk to you later. You can disconnect now.
Viewer: Ok

+ | << Public: Joe Smith at 12/26/05 17:42 [MessageID:24xxx-815266]
Good news Randy, uninstalling and reinstall worked. But now, it is back to drive C. Pls help again to move it to drive D. YOu can TekRemote now and see that it is working first before you move to drive D.

+ | << Public: Joe Smith at 12/26/05 17:42 [MessageID:24xxx-815269]
Also, I deleted the Medidata in drive D already so you can start from fresh.

+ | << Public: Randy at 12/26/05 17:42 [MessageID:24xxx-815270]
Ok

Viewer: Please clarify do you want me to copy your program from disc C to disc D?
Presenter: I want to move the database from C to D not the program. The data is in Medidata in drive C now. To remind you, the reason for this move is bec my C drive is running out of space and you helped me quite a bit in moving lots of stuff to D and as possible leave only programs in C.
Viewer: ok
Viewer: As far as i can see there is a lot of free space on your C: disc, do you still want to move your database(that could be the cause of program malfunction)?
Presenter: Yes I like to move to C. D has lots of space. It work before though when you move it.
Viewer: As you wish
Presenter: HOld on Randy, I think I can restore now to the one you move without going thru the registration process again.
Viewer: Please try to
Presenter: Sorry Randy. I thought restore again will work but it is not seeing the LVGMDINC.
Presenter: I am thinking Randy. Trying to analyze what Medisoft is doing. I think the path is tied when you run Medisoft so when you move it is no longer seeing it. So, I am thinking, in order to see the data again, you have to create a new database inside Medisoft so the new path will be seen. On the other hand, last time you were able to do it right. I guess you can exactly remember now.
Viewer: Good analyze.
Presenter: Randy, I think it is the New Practice option.
Viewer: Maybe it would be easier if we would increase size of your C: disc?
Presenter: You already tried that before and according to your cleaning, you were able to recover 2 more GB and then suggest that from now on all my data will be in D drive which is easier to remember for backup purposes.
Viewer: That is so, but for MediSoft software it would be better to strore it's database on the c: drive, besides it's database is 120 mb size and you have 2gb of free sapce so i think it is not necessary to copy it to another drive because there is no such necessity.
Presenter: If you can't exactly remember what you did before, it is OK. At least, I can run the program now eventhough the database is back to drive C.
Viewer: Yes, now everything is working fine.
Presenter: I guess we can leave to this point. You can disconnect now and thanks a lot again for the help.
Viewer: Ok, could you please close this question if you think that it was answered to your satisfaction? Thank you.
Presenter: OK
