A Problem with AOL running under Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition
get a printable version

Joe Smith at 01/11/06 22:55 [MessageID:25xxx-xx6053]
A new question on this laptop.
Running Win2K.
I would prefer that AOL not run at startup
It loads onto the systray & makes startup take too long
How can I control files that load at start up under Win2k ?

Please do the following:

1. Click "Start" -> "Run" and type "msconfig", press Enter;
2. Go to Startup tab, locate AOL item ad uncheck it.
3. Reboot your computer.
4. After Reboot, if you see the message that some changes were made to your PC, please click "Do not show this message again" and click OK to close the windows.

Please download msconfig from here, and copy it to the C:\WINNT\system32 folder.

Nicholas at 01/11/06 23:06 [MessageID:25xxx-xx6071]
I apologize, simply copy it to C:\WINNT folder.
